Primate encounter


Day 1: Transfer to Chimpanzee Island
From Entebbe after a boat ride we will reach Ngamba Island, where we will be directed to the visitors centre to earn more about the chimps and other lifestyle. We will be able to view and photograph these fascinating apes in their natural environment from only a few meters away and thereafter a boat ride back to Entebbe and return to your hotel.


Day 2: In Kibale National park
From Entebbe we will head west to fort portal and from there we will continue to Kibale National Park for a stay within the tropical forest at Primate Lodge.


Day 3: Guided nature walk in Kibale

Kibale forest is well known for having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. We will enjoy a nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, Black and white colobus monkey and much other. After lunch we go to Bigodi swamp. The Bigodi Swamp is a local community tourism project and is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates, then back to the lodge.


Day 4:In Queen Elizabeth National Park
In the morning we will visit the crate lakes area with some stunning views, before continuing to Queen Elizabeth national Park. A game drive on our way to the accommodating in the middle of the national park gives us the chance to spot water bucks, warthogs and other wildlife. Have dinner and overnight at institute of Ecology Hostel or the Mweya Safari lodge.


Day 5:Game Drive & Boat Cruise
Start early for the game drive and for the mating ground of the Uganda Kobs. Too expect to view lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat, before lunch. In the afternoon we take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George, view the elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos among others. You will surely enjoy, and then back to the hotel.


Day 6:Chimp Tracking in Kyambura
After breakfast we drive through a grassland area, you will come across an amazing gorge of one hundred meters deep, covered with tropical rainforest. You will hike into the gorge of the Kyambura River in search of the wild chimpanzees. Later leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and head towards Bwind via IShasha sector. This gives a rich view of nature and scenery. In Bwindi we get dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas or the gorilla resort.


Day 7:Gorilla Tracking In Bwindi
Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain over head, before you encounter any gorillas, you will appreciate the rich vegetation. It will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest; this is a unique and unforgettable experience. For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. Then back to the camp.


Day 8:Transfer to Kampala
We drive to Kampala. On our way we will pass Mpigi village, famous for the royal drums makers and of course the Uganda Equator, where you can take pictures and shop for a souvenir. With lunch on our way we will reach Kampala by the end of the day. Later we will get to the camp.
