As you hike to the top of the Murchison Falls , feel the earth literally tremble as you watch the River Nile squeeze itself through a seven meter gap and drop about 50 meters below forming one of the world's most fascinating natural flow of water that will simply take your breath away.


Murchison Falls National Park is home to over 76 mammal species and 450 bird species. You will be able to enjoy the spectacular view when you take
game drives and the boat cruise along the River Nile will provide you with a glimpse of the animals relaxing along the banks of the River Nile while others take a drink. Wildlife includes elephants, warthog, giraffe, buffalo, bush buck, water buck, kongoni, reed buck, side-stripped jackal and primate species such as Vervet monkey and olive baboon. Less frequently observed are leopards, spotted hyena and patas monkey. Among the herbivores, the lions have a big population.

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls Park

After breakfast, early morning drive through the famous Luwero triangle and stop over in Masindi town for lunch. Thereafter drive to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest protected area in Uganda, with 3.840 Kms Prior to arrival in the park we shall pass by the top of the spectacular Murchison falls, where you can see the Nile's perfected beauty, as the 43 meter wide Nile river compresses and squeezes itself from over 1 kilometer wide down through an 7 meter gap. The 43 meter drop of the falls creates a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray. Thereafter we shall continue to the park for dinner and overnight.

Paraa lodge (high-end) or similar
Sambiya River lodge (Mid-range) or similar
Red Chilli rest camp (budget) or similar

Day 2: Game drives and Launch trip
After an early breakfast, go for a game drive. Expect to see Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Bushbucks, Lions and a variety of bird species. In the afternoon proceed for an exciting 3 hour launch trip on the river Nile up to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls where the 40 meter wide river Nile squeezes itself through a seven meter narrow gorge.
Expect to see yawning hippos, crocodiles and over the 17-kilometer stretch you may also see elephants, waterbucks and Uganda kobs. This is also the habitat of many bird species including goliath herons, Egyptian geese, pelican bee-eaters, kingfishers, horn bills, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight in the evening.

Day 3: Transfer to Kampala via Budongo Forest.
After breakfast, immediate transfer to Kampala or go for extra Optional activities such as Visit to the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary to see Ugandan Rhinos in the wild.
