MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
Murchison Falls is the Largest National Park in Uganda, 3840kms2 in size. Public transport is available from Kampala to Masindi town and special car hires from Masindi to the Park. The park is divided into the northern bank and the southern bank. On both side of the park, there are tourist activities and also accommodation.A must experience is the 3hours launch trip to base of the falls that offers fantastic game viewing and birding as do game drives. Boat trips to Lake Albert delta provides a great chance in Africa of sighting the Shoebill storks, chimp tracking and birding can be done in Rabongo, Kaniyo Pabidi and Karuma forest reserves. A nature walk to the top of the Murchison falls offers the best view of the Nile waters bursting majestically through a 7meter gorge to an awesome 45 meters plunge producing a thunderous roar and forming a rainbow, where it derives its name. There are two up market lodges, a luxury tented camp and simple chalets and bandas. Campsites are also available at the top of the falls, Paraa and the delta area.
